Motorcycle Rider And Passenger Critically Injured In Beachline Accident

According to the Florida Today newspaper, two Cocoa people were critically injured in the early morning hours of July 26, 2012 arising out of a motorcycle accident. The motorcycle accident occurred around 2:10 a.m. on July 26th on State Road 528 (the Beachline) on Merritt Island, Florida. According to investigators for the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2007 Nissan Altima and a Honda motorcycle were both headed westbound on S.R. 528 when the Nissan failed to slow down behind the motorcycle.

The Nissan struck the motorcycle, dragging the bike and throwing the two riders off of the motorcycle. The two people on the motorcycle, a 23 year old man and a 24 year old woman, both sustained critical personal injuries. The driver of the Nissan, a 28 year old Orlando woman, was not injured as a result of this car accident. It is unknown whether or not the motorcycle operator and his passenger were wearing helmets.
