Driver Distracted By Cell Phone Involved In Car Crash
According to the Florida Today Newspaper, a Nissan pickup truck and a GMC SUV collided on June 20, 2011 during rush hour traffic on the Beachline Expressway. The driver of the
pickup truck evidently looked down to pick up his ringing
cell phone. His westbound
truck veered into the grassy median, overturned and then crashed into an eastbound SUV. The
crash stopped traffic on the busy highway for almost 2 hours. The driver of the
pickup truck and all 5 people in the SUV were transported to Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge, Florida for emergency treatment of their
personal injuries. The driver of the
pickup truck was issued a citation for his part in this
