1 Killed, 2 Severely Injured In Early Morning Car Accident

According to the Florida Today Newspaper, a Mims man was involved in a three car accident on August 7, 2011 that killed an 18-year-old man and sent four other people to various Central Florida hospitals. According to investigators, about 1:20 a.m., the Mims, Florida man was towing a boat trailer with a 1995 Jeep southbound on State Road 415 in Volusia County when a northbound 1994 Ford sedan crossed the center line and struck the boat trailer and then a 2003 Dodge pickup. The sedan was occupied by five people. A Sanford, Florida man was killed as a result of the car accident and two other occupants of the sedan sustained serious personal injuries. Following the crash, the driver of the sedan fled the scene on foot. The driver and passenger of the southbound Jeep were wearing their seatbelts and were did not sustained personal injuries arising from this car crash.
